The Last Crazy Year

today zach turns 29 years young...we have been together since we were 21 and i keep wondering where the time has gone...and then i look back and see all the things we have done together and I am amazed that it has only been eight years...next year we will be thirty and it feels like this is the year to be crazy, to do something stupid, our last year to be young...as young and stupid as two working parents can responsibly be...here is a list of 29 things (only 29, there are a million more)i love about that man of mine...

1. his dedication to his running...he gets something in his head and he just does it...and his decision to run for a greater cause is infectious and inspires me to be a better, more giving person...he can accomplish anything and he is a great addition to any team (for more information about zach's running, visit his fundraising page at http://pages.teamintraining.org/dm/vancouvr10/zrobinson
2. his promptness...zach is never tardy and always on time for everything...i think the only time he has ever been late was when i accidentally turned the alarm clock off and he was late for work...my bad!
3. it is almost impossible to continue cuddling throughout a long night of sleeping, but when zach wakes up at three am in the morning, i can feel him pull me closer to him so we can resume our pre-sleep cuddle...its the best way to wake up
4. zach's new man crush...deron williams...he met him at a team autograph session a few weeks ago...this is how the conversation went... DW "what's up man?" ZR (blushing) "good..." zach never gets tongue tied, but dwill definitely gave zach the butterflies!
5. acronyms...zach easily makes acronyms of any phrase and every phrase possible...usually i have to ask him to clarify, but then i am always laughing when he uses them in the future...like P in the A (can you guess what that stands for and who we refer to when we say it?)
6. "i'm glad you did..." every time i call zach, just because, he tells me he's happy for the call, and i know he really means it
7. his robinson ears, which hannah has inherited...lucky girl!
8. his home improvement skills...he really has become a mr. fix-it and i am always surprised how he knows how to do these things without any help or guidance (don't mess with him, home depot lady, who says his skills are "cheap and ugly!")...i think our house looks great and i appreciate all your hard work
9. cooking...zach is a wonderful chef and prepares meals for our family more then i ever do and they are always delicious...we are also branching out and trying new things...goodbye picky robinson clan!
10. the way he kisses me goodbye everyday, even if i am still sleeping
11. his love for slippers, which means we have a utah pair, a madagascar pair, a simpson's pair, etc. and he wears them around the house everyday
12. not a lot of people can or will admit when they are wrong...zach is always the first to point out when he has done something wrong or where he could improve...i think that takes a strong/confident person to admit that and then honestly try to make the changes
13. the way he talks to me or hannah...there is definitely a tenderness in his voice that isn't there for just anyone
14. zach does not complain...ever
15. the way he bites his fingernails...really short, which makes it difficult when i ask for a hard back scratch, but the soft tips of his fingers are great for a soft back tickle
16. when zach is concentrating, he sticks his tongue out (to the left side), always...it's adorable
17. the way he takes care of the li'l nut...she is lucky to have such an involved daddy who would rather spend his time with her then anyone else
18. manners...zach has amazing manners and he is starting to teach hannah very early
19. his voice...he used to sing in choirs in high school and college...he does not sing much anymore, but every once in a while, i can hear him singing under his breath in the car and he has a great set of pipes
20. ben and jerry...his nickname for his belly... and despite having lost nearly 40 pounds in the last year, he can still stick out his tummy and look like a pregnant woman...it makes me feel better
21. he knows who he is and who he wants to be and never wavers from that man...he also knows who i am, even when i feel lost and unsure of the person i am or what i want, he helps me remember the person i am and the life we want and have already built together...he is my center
22. the way he taps his thumb on the steering wheel to every beat on the radio
23. his dancing...usually consists of pumping his hands above his head, but you can always find him in the crowd!
24. droid!
25. zach has the most unique vocabulary and the "original" material he comes up with on a daily basis makes our conversations more exciting and interesting everyday
26. his willingness to try anything once (in the name if love) and his ability to enjoy himself in any situation...elton and billy, here we come!
27. zach is the least judgemental person i have ever met and even if he walked a mile in your shoes, he is the last person to lay blame, place judgement, or criticize anyone's life, their choices, or decisions they have made...
28. the way he entertains and indulges my love for celebrity gossip by throwing any and all information my way...i know he had no emotional connection to brittany murphy when she died, but when he got the news on his iphone, he rushed to tell me because he knew i would care and be devastated!
29. this wonderful man of mine helped me through a very difficult time over the last few weeks when we lost the baby i had been carrying for two months...it was very hard on both of us and we kind of went into seclusion for several days just to regroup...i could not have gotten through that horrible time without his love, understanding, compassion, friendship, thoughtfulness, unfailing support, and patience...he may never know how his simple reassurance that although we lost our baby "its soul will come back to us with a better body," truly lifted my spirits and healed my heart, and made it easier to start trying again.
